The Institute

Areas of activity

Instituto +Brasal works to contribute, in a deliberate and strategic way, in three specific programmatic areas. With a specialized focus, the Institute's goal is to generate lasting positive impact on society, using planned and targeted methods to achieve meaningful results in each of the areas.

Instituto +Brasal's education area is responsible for promoting socio-educational, socio-environmental and professional development actions, fundamental points for the structuring of society.

Brasal Refrigerantes, in partnership with Instituto +Brasal, is proud to present the Vem Com a Gente program, a socio-environmental initiative focused on reverse logistics and the correct disposal of single-use PET waste. This program aims to generate mutual value between Brasal, partner cooperatives, the community and the participating institutions.

  1. 01

Expand the collection of post-consumer PET bottles

We encourage the collection of PET bottles to reduce environmental impact.

  2. 02

Develop the relationship with the community

We mobilize children, young people, families and teachers to take an active part in the program.

  3. 03

Raise awareness about protecting the environment

We educate the community about the importance of recycling and reverse logistics.

  4. 04

    Spread knowledge

We promote understanding of reverse logistics processes and their importance for the environment.

how it works

Participating institutions must reach a minimum PET bottle collection target to be eligible for the award. Only institutions that reach this target can win prizes, encouraging active participation and commitment to waste collection.

Programa PAIS

The Social Impact Acceleration Program – PAIS was created in 2018 with the goal of changing the way Civil Society Organizations – CSOs are seen in Brazil, introducing new tools to improve CSOs' management, fundraising and transparency, and presenting the trends impacting the third sector in the digital and socio-environmental fields.

This program is under review and there is no date set for its next edition.

Community Leadership Forum

Instituto +Brasal, in partnership with Brasal Refrigerantes, holds the Community Leadership Forum (FLC) every year. This traditional activity brings together community leaders and representatives of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to hear their proposals and demands in order to seek, together, effective solutions to socio-environmental issues.

Programa Vamos Juntos

The “Vamos Juntos” program was created to meet Instituto +Brasal's commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals developed by the UN, especially regarding the goal called “Partnerships for the goals” (SDG 17).

The mission of Vamos Juntos is to strengthen and support the work of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the Federal District, establishing solid, collaborative partnerships that promote a stronger and more efficient landscape for the region's CSOs. Offering more personalized support to the benefited organizations, the program works along the following advisory lines:

– Technical– Financial– Political– Administrative

In addition, the program follows a methodology that includes the annual sponsorship of a civil society organization, divided into twelve-month cycles with well-defined stages, ensuring a comprehensive and systematic process to achieve the established goals.

Complementing the other areas of activity, Instituto +Brasal is committed to supporting, in a responsive way, social and emergency actions.

In addition to one-off initiatives with no defined thematic focus, Instituto +Brasal created the “Troca de Sorrisos” campaign, which endorses all actions related to collecting items for donation.
